Before Laurie Davidson became known to the world for designing
America's Cup winning yachts he was already renowned locally, and
the the Davidson 28 was the boat that brought his name into the
households of many New Zealanders. The length of the hull is belied
by the the roomy interior and large cockpit. The boat has excellent
sailing characteristics and is a better upwind and heavy weather
performer than our smaller Beneteau's. The Davidson 28 can sleep
up to six people but is best suited for a couple or small family.
The solid kauri paneling in the saloon gives "Freewheeling"
a pleasant feel below. The swim platform on the stern makes boarding
the dinghy easy. Hand pumped water and 'solar shower' only.
